My First Few Weeks At Newtrality by Kate Atkinson

Kate Atkinson

What attracted you to join Newtrality?

I wanted to join Newtrality because I have spent my career working in local government and I wanted to use my skills and knowledge as a consultant in the public sector. I wanted to do this with Newtrality due to the organisation’s people focus and commitment to delivering change with empathy.

What have you been working on so far?

I went straight into delivering projects with local authorities. It has been great to work directly with councils and build relationships with the people I am working with.

What’s surprised you about your first few weeks?

I have been enjoying the fast pace and the varied nature of the work.

How would you describe the team and culture?

The friendly and collaborative culture has made a huge difference since joining Newtrality – I immediately felt valued and part of the team.

What are you looking forward to next?

I am looking forward to getting involved in a variety of projects to continue building my public sector knowledge and applying my frontline insight into the work.

Quick-fire round:

Three words to describe your first few weeks: Exciting, varied, collaborative

One thing you’ve learned already: I have learned more about the different types of support we offer and the potential areas of work I can get involved with in the future

Best part of your role so far: Sharing my experiences with clients to support their work

Tea or coffee: Coffee
