Newtrality at Solace Summit 2025: Shaping the Future of Local Government
Solace Summit 2025
Last week, the Newtrality team joined hundreds of senior public sector leaders at the Solace Summit 2025 in Leeds — a two-day event dedicated to the future of local government leadership, collaboration, and transformation.
Hosted at the Royal Armouries, the Summit brought together voices from across local government, central government, and the wider public sector. From digital transformation to equity in leadership, it showcased the ideas and innovation shaping the sector’s future.
A Shared Commitment to Public Sector Change
For Newtrality, attending the Solace Summit 2025 wasn’t just about listening — it was about engaging in the national conversation on how we can deliver meaningful, practical change.
Our mission has always been clear: to help local authorities and public sector organisations navigate complexity, lead with authenticity, and deliver transformation that lasts.
The Summit’s themes of purpose, inclusion, and collaboration perfectly reflected our values.
Key Insights and Takeaways
1. Leadership with Purpose
The most powerful discussions focused on how leadership in local government must be rooted in trust, equity, and community connection. The Equity and Purpose session was a clear reminder that the strongest leaders are those who lead with empathy and purpose.
2. Collaboration Across Boundaries
Transformation doesn’t happen in isolation. The Summit reinforced the need for partnership across councils, sectors, and communities — something we see daily in our work with clients.
3. Transformation in Practice
The sessions on local government reorganisation and digital transformation offered real-world examples of councils adapting to rapid change. The message was simple: transformation is not a one-off project — it’s a continual process of learning, adapting, and delivering better outcomes.
Our Role in the Conversation
We were proud to represent Newtrality’s voice within this community of changemakers. Through conversations, networking, and shared insight, we reinforced our commitment to helping organisations design and deliver practical, people-centred transformation.
The event also gave us an opportunity to connect with partners, clients, and peers — discussing how consultancies like ours can support leaders to deliver tangible public value through lived experience and strategic expertise.
Looking Ahead
Attending the Solace Summit 2025 reaffirmed what we already know: the future of local government depends on inclusive, courageous, and adaptable leadership.
At Newtrality, we’ll continue to:
- Equip leaders to thrive in complex environments
- Champion equity and purpose across transformation programmes
- Build partnerships that drive sustainable, human-centred change
We left Leeds inspired — and ready to turn those insights into action.
